Failed update - backup restores

Well, the good news is that the process for restoring this forum from a backup has worked.
The bad news is that an update of the software that runs the forum failed.
I performed the upgrade at 13:34 this afternoon after taking a backup. Unfortunately it took a while before the problems were detected. The old version of the forum was restored just now, at 22:15.
Any updates that occurred between 13:34 and 22:15 today have been lost.
